Debra turns a Decade!

Debra successfully broke past the 9's (turning 9 on 9/29/1999) and is now a Decade! This makes her parents feel really old! The big 10. She awoke to a decorated room with streamers and balloons. She enjoyed giving special 10 treats to her class on her special day and that night she was the birthday princess at a "Art"fully Fun Birthday party. For her gift from her parents, we went to Salt Lake City to attend the Sunday morning session of general conference. It was a lot of fun seeing their Cousins in Utah again!

Saturday Craft

On Saturday May 9th, in an attempt to be a good mom so I wouldn't feel so guilty the next day (mother's day) I rewarded my kids for their hard work cleaning the house with a fun craft. We built the Cardboard castle that Tyler saw in a magazine and has always wanted to build...of course with Tyler we had to call it a Pirate castle and put water all around it so his pirate ships could sail up to it. It took us all afternoon but it was a great time spent together, recycling our garbage into a toy that the kids love to play with! Any takers on how long this thing is going to last before it gets smashed and broken? Hey, at least we didn't have to pay a dime for it!

Six Flags

One one of our last days of Spring Break we spent the day at Six Flags with Grandma and Grandpa Williams and Aunt Elizabeth. The kids had a great time and we found out that Kade is a thrill seeker!

California State Train Museum

We went to old Sacramento one day and enjoyed the history of the transcontinental railroad tour and all the neat steam trains. Kade loves trains and went crazy! I am now reading "Nothing Like it in the World." We only think of trains as a novelty now, but not too long ago they were the jet planes of today!

Easter Sunday

We had beautiful weather for Easter Sunday in Orland. The roses were blooming along with this pretty white bush. The kids got Easter sunday clothes from Grandma and Grandpa and they looked really cute before Tyler got grass stains on his new slacks, that is! Debra's dress was made by her mom and the ribbon was handstitched into place on their long drive to CA.

To Celebrate Spring in Actual Spring Weather!

On the day before Easter we dyed Easter Eggs for the first time at Grandma's and then went outside for our Easter Egg hunt after Grandma had hidden all the eggs and the gifts for the grandkids. Elizabeth helped Kade, so you can guess who had the most eggs in their basket at the end, and who found the golden egg with $1.oo inside...Kade says thanks for the sweet haul Aunt Elizabeth...Tyler and Debra had to look high and low because Grandma is quite the egg hider! The kids got new sandles from Grandma and Tyler and Kade got some new swim trunks and Debra got a new spring shirt. Is it just me or is an Easter egg hunt a lot more fun when it's actually warm outside?!

For Spring Break we left on Graduation day for BYU-I and drove all day to Grandma and Grandpa Williams' in sunny California. The weather was perfect for our Easter Egg Hunt and for a Fun day at Six Flags. We had a great time...thanks Mom and Dad for everything!

Brothers

I enjoy having brothers. I would do anything for them. My brothers mean so much to me. I want to be a good example to them. They are so fun to have around. They make me smile!

This post was written by Debra and express the views sometimes not shown in our household but they are sweet and sincere!
